DWI
Correct, DWI is very sensitive and can pick up tiny little infarcts.
SWI
Although SWI can detect petechial haemorrhage in an infarct or a haemorrhagic stroke it is not the most sensitive or specific for ischaemia.
FLAIR
Although FLAIR will detect if there is oedema it is not the most sensitive or specific sequence for infarcts.
T2WI
Although T2WI will detect if there is oedema it is not the most sensitive or specific sequence for infarcts.
